This Schedule applies to backups provided by Netz0, whether included with a service or purchased as an add-on. Where this Schedule conflicts with the master Terms, this Schedule prevails for these services.
1. What Backups Are — and Are Not
Netz0 backups are a recovery convenience, provided on a best-effort basis. They are not a guarantee of data preservation and not a substitute for your own independent backups, which the master Terms (Section 13.3) make your responsibility. They are also not archival or compliance storage; do not rely on them to satisfy legal retention obligations.
2. Scope, Frequency, and Retention
What is backed up, how often, and how many restore points are retained are defined by your plan or add-on and displayed at purchase and in your account. Backups cover the data scope stated in the plan — not necessarily everything on a service.
3. Encryption
Netz0 backups are encrypted before transmission to backup storage; encryption keys are not stored on the backup servers.
4. Restores
Restores are performed on request (or self-service where the platform provides it) and on a best-effort basis. Netz0 does not warrant that any particular restore point exists, is complete, or is restorable, and is not liable for data loss where a backup or restore fails — per the master Terms' limitation of liability and the independent-backup obligation above.
5. Term and Deletion
Backups exist for the life of the associated service or backup add-on. When the associated service or add-on ends, its backups are deleted on the same schedule as the service's data under the master Terms.
