In almost all cases the answer is yes. Most domain extensions have what is called the grace period after expiration. This period, usually of 30 days allows you to renew a domain when the registration time has expired. The grace period begins the day after the expiration day, and we currently charge a fixed reactivation fee of $10 for all extensions if you renew a domain in this period.

Keep in mind that most domains are deactivated on the date and hour until they were registered, so services associated with the name such as mail, web, and others no longer work when a domain has expired. This can cause disruptions to your business, so you should never let domains expire. Netz0 is not responsible for additional costs this interruption can produce to your business if a domain was not renewed before the expiration date. We suggest enabling the automatic renewal feature for your domains on your account or renew them with enough time before the expiration date.

If a domain was not renewed during the grace period, it enters what is known as the redemption period. This new period usually also lasts for another 30 days. This is the last period under which you can still recover a domain record before it is released to the public or auctioned. The authorized registry of the extension usually charges higher rates to retrieve a domain record in the redemption period. Netz0 transfers the fees to recover the registration to the renewal cost. All fees are in addition to the renewal price.

For example, if your .COM registration was created on January 1, 2020, and was reserved for one year. It expires on January 1, 2021, at the same time it was purchased initially. Even on January 1, 2021, it could already be deactivated depending on your time zone.

Renewing the domain before or until this date has no additional cost. You would simply pay the regular renewal rate. If the fee is $10.99 per year for a .COM domain, you would just pay $10.99 to renew it until January 1, 2022.

Renewal prior expiration:

+ $10.99 renewal for one year
---------
= $10.99 total payable

If you don't renew past this date, the domain enters the grace period that lasts from January 1, up to January 30. Reactivating the domain on this period for an additional year would cost the renewal price + the reactivation fee of $10 as shown below:

Renewal in the grace period:

+ $10.99 renewal for one year
+ $10 reactivation fee
---------
= $20.99 total payable

If you do not renew the domain during the grace period, the domain enters a redemption period that lasts until March 1. To renew the domain at this stage, you will have to pay the renewal price + reactivation fee + redemption recovery fee. If the redemption fee for a .COM extension is $200 the renewal price would look like this:

Renewal in the redemption period:

+ $10.99 renewal for one year
+ $10 reactivation fee
+ $200 recovery fee
---------
= $220.99 total payable

NOTE: These dates and prices are merely examples, deadlines and real costs can vary depending on the domain extension.

WARNING: Not all domain extensions have a grace period. Some extensions like for example .EU (Europe) or .MX (Mexico) go directly to a redemption period on expiration. Other extensions have neither a grace o redemption period and are deleted or auctioned by the registry on the expiration date, so you could lose the domain name permanently. Both periods, the grace or redemption are optional and not obligatory.
