These three processes explain the differences between the main actions you can take with a domain name on the Internet.

Registration

A domain registration is when you register a new name on the Internet that does not already exist. It is the creation of a name that has not yet been entered or has ceased to exist. Millions of domains are registered every day, and you can only register a name if it is available. If a name is available it means that it was never previously registered or if it was registered, the previous owner has not renewed it, so it is again available to the public so that anyone can register it.

Registration is therefore the creation of a new name on the Internet. Most domain extensions offered on Netz0 are automatically and immediately registered after payment, except for some extensions or if an error occurred in the initial registration.

Renewal

Renewal is the extension of an existing domain. A domain cannot be purchased permanently but can be extended indefinitely by the owner. When you initially register a domain, you do so for a set period of time. The minimum for most extensions is 1 year and maximum 10 but depending on the extension there might be other limits. Renewing a domain is simply the extension for an additional period and can be done at any moment, you don't need to wait for the expiration date to arrive. Domain renewals take place in the company where you initially registered the domain.

Most domains in Netz0 except for some rare extensions are automatically renewed after payment. The renewal simply extends the validity period of the domain and does not modify any other data.

Transfer

Transferring a domain is the process of transferring the legal name of the domain to another domain company so that you can manage it from those services. For example, if you have domains registered with another provider, you can transfer these names to Netz0 to manage them from your account and additionally get all the services we offer for domains. Similarly, if you have domains registered with Netz0, you can optionally transfer them to another company. Transferring a domain is only the transfer of the  name, such as transferring a brand name, this transfer is a legal process and does not involve the transfer of services associated with a domain such as a website, email, etc. These services are provided by the server to which the domain points by configuring DNS name servers.

Web services are completely domain-independent and will continue to operate without interruption if you transfer a domain between companies and keep the existing nameserver configuration.

Transferring domains between companies takes a few days.

Netz0 supports all 3 operations for its domains. You can register new names, renew them manually or automatically from your account, and transfer domains from other services to Netz0 to centralize the management of all your names under our exclusive platform.
