Here are some of the reasons why a domain transfer to Netz0 can fail:

Transfer Lock

There is a lock on the domain name by the current registrar. Only domains with an Active status can be transferred between providers. Many companies, including Netz0, offer a domain locking feature to protect domains from unauthorized transfers. If your domain has a user lock in place, you need to unlock it first. Expired domains, no longer valid or with any other status which is not Active are not allowed for transfer and are categorized as locked. To resume, a locked status is any domain status which is not Active. Some status cannot be modified by the user or the registrar. See below.

Solution: Unlock your domain or ask your current company to do so. Then try the transfer again.

New Domain

The domain has been recently registered. If the domain is new, you must wait at least 60 days before transferring it to Netz0. If the domain was recently registered on the Internet and is not 60 days old, then it is automatically locked for that period, and you cannot transfer it.

Solution: Wait until the domain is 60 days old. Then try the transfer again.

Recently Transferred

The domain has been recently transferred to the existing provider. A domain name can only be transferred 60 days after a previous transfer took place. If you transferred the domain to your current company recently, the domain is automatically locked and can’t be transferred to Netz0 until 60 days have passed.

Solution: Wait 60 days from the date it was transferred to your existing provider. Then try the transfer again.

Incorrect Auth or EPP Code

Some domain name extensions require a secret code to approve the transfer. If the entered code for the domain is incorrect or missing, the transfer will be denied automatically.

Solution: Make sure the code obtained from your existing provider for that domain is correct. Then try the transfer again after providing us the correct code.

Owner Denied Transfer

When you request a domain transfer to Netz0, we send an authorization message to the existing domain owner. This is sent by email, and for security reasons, it is only sent to the email account listed for that domain. The owner needs to confirm that he agrees to the transfer by following the instructions on the email. The owner normally has 5 days to confirm the transfer. If the owner takes no action and ignores the email, this is interpreted as denying the transfer, and it will fail automatically.

Solution: Make sure to confirm the transfer following the instructions on the email or ask our support team to send a new confirmation email.

Please open a support ticket if you need to re-initiate a failed domain transfer or want more information about why it failed. We are happy to assist you in fixing the issues.
