If a domain extension goes into redemption status, we can only recover the domain name. Most domain extension registries charge a fee to restore a domain name in this status. This is an obligatory fee that we must pay to get the domain back in the system.
When you register a domain name with Netz0, we must buy the domain from the official registry by paying the proper registration fees. The same applies when a domain is taken out of the system when it enters redemption status. Some domain extensions require a specific procedure to restore domains back into the system, besides paying specific fees. This procedure is called restoring a domain name back to the previous last owner before it can be renewed.
Most domain names have a grace period time in which the last owner can renew the domain name even after expiration. This varies from extension to extension and the days are usually up to 30 days after expiration, but they are not equal for every domain as every registry can apply their own policies in how they handle registrations, renewals, expirations, and the fees they can charge.
Because we are forced to pay the cost to recover a domain if the grace period is over, we are not able to waive any redemption or recovery fees for you.
The best option to avoid paying any additional fees is to keep domain names registered with proper years ahead of expiration and always renew domain names before they expire. Some extensions do not even have a grace period, which means they enter redemption status directly after expiration.
