Modifying the DNS servers or also called Name Servers of your domains registered in Netz0 is very straightforward. The DNS configured on a domain determines to where on the Internet it will resolve.
1. Log into your Netz0 customer account.
2. Click Products & Services on the top menu, then click My Domains.
3. On this page is a list of all the domains in your account. In the domain for which you want to make the DNS change, touch the tab titled Manage Nameservers.
If you already are on the management section for a specific domain, the option is called Nameservers on the actions menu.
4. Now you need to enter the DNS servers provided by your hosting company or service. If you are using our DNS services or hosting, your domain is configured automatically to use our nameservers which are:
ns1.netz0.net
ns2.netz0.net
ns3.netz0.net
If this is not the case, you can set up your domain automatically with our services by clicking the option that says Use default nameservers.
If you use the DNS servers of another company or service, select the option that says Use custom nameservers and then enter them in the following fields.
For example, if we want to point a domain to use Amazon cloud services and they gave us four nameservers for their DNS services, we would enter each one on a separated field like the following image:
The order is not important, but you are required to enter all of them. Its ok to leave the last field blank in our case as we only require 4 nameservers.
Note: The DNS servers as indicated by its name (Domain Name System), are names, not IP addresses. You cannot use numbers here. Your service provider must provide you with server names, and these should be at least two according to the regulations for the operation of domains on the Internet.
5. Finally press the blue button titled Change Nameservers to save the change in your domain. If you get an error, please make sure that the names you entered are valid DNS names on the Internet and are functioning properly at the time of the change.
Your changes are applied immediately to your domain however due to DNS propagation effects on the Internet, you might not see your domain resolving to those servers immediately. You should wait at least 24 hours to see the change on your side. This effect is called DNS propagation. That is how DNS servers and domains work on the Internet globally, independently of where they are registered, so neither Netz0 or any other company can accelerate the process after a DNS modification. Generally, its advised to wait 24 hours after saving your changes.
